My Team In Griffith '57

The Modestly Priced Receptacles. (Just because we're bereaved doesn't make us saps!)
My 3rd team starts in an hour. Now that it's too late to change anything I'd like to get opinions on the team. What is good? What is bad? What players should I have considered for this park? etc.

1. I picked Griffith '57 because it looks kind of extreme. And why not, right?
2. I'm platooning Noren and Brouhard in RF. Is this a decent strategy? or an epic fail?
3. I agonized over Good Lofton vs Good Kiner. I couldn't see where else to cut a corner to fit both in. Did I make the right choice?
4. Would it have been a good idea to try to upgrade The Fat Kid's card? (I don't see where I would have gotten the money)
5. Do I have enough in the bulpen? Does it ever make sense to spend $5mil on a closer the way I did?
6. Could I have gotten away with a cheaper rotation?
7. What other player cards work well in this park?
8. Any other thoughts or advice?
* Thanks to docdave for the advice leading up to this season.

I really think Smoltz isn't a good choice, you good get better for less money, also you went get many innings out of him per appearance. Also your defense will cost you some runs.

Defense? What is this "defense" you speak of?
I wasn't sure about Smoltz. I tried to draft Eck but he was stolen out from under me by some low down dirty dog.
I haven't had a strong closer in a league yet, and I thought that maybe that cost me a few games in my last league. I was wondering if I would have been better off using that $5 mil on two 2-3 mil relievers instead of Smoltz.
I guess I'll find out.

Love the Big Lebowski reference, so I will give you my 3 cents:
1. Right
2. Brouhard: decent strategy, Noren: epic fail
3. These two guys should be just fine
4. Yeah, he's a bum. You should have switched around the prices of your 1B and catcher
5. You have enough money in your bullpen, but over half the money is wrapped up in a one inning guy
6. Yes, don't fear the asterisk
7. Right handed boppers, especially ones who hit righties well (like Beckwith) and lefty leadoff men.
8. If you have an expensive extreme lefty killer like Gibson, the rest of your lineup should be able to hit righties. You might have a very poor record against right handed starters

The majority of your players are ranked at 3 or 4 defensively, which will cost you extra errors and possibly games.

Wow, I remember when it was only 2 cents. Is there anything inflation does not get it's grubby paws on? I am going to be the first to predict that the day will come when thoughts will cost a whole nickel.

Range will not cost errors. It will cost hits. It will look like your pitchers are underperforming, but you won't get extra errors. It's more subtle, but equally (if not more) destructive.

I knew that the defense was terrible, but Trammell is a 1 defender so I figured that would even everything out.
I never used a non-* fave man rotation so I wanted to give it a shot. I'm not sure what is better or if it makes more sense to have this type of rotation at a different cap or park.
My original plan was to try to balance some lefty slappys and righty power hitters. At some point I somehow drifted away from that and ended up with the monstrosity you see before you.
One guy that I thought did fit into the park was Noren. A few people have told me that he sucks, but I thought his card might play well in this park against right handed pitching. Is my strategy off, or is it just that his card is no good?

I thought I had a good result with Noren, but I think it was the other Noren card. Or I might just be confused.
