I have an idea for a league comprised of new/inexperienced players to get some helpful guidance from more experienced players. The logistics of it might prove impossible but I figured I'd throw it out there to see if there is interest.
I'm constantly starting threads and asking questions in threads, even PMing players for advice. The willingness of the experienced layers to help and encourage is overwhelming. I thought maybe I can make a league where they get something out of it, besides good karma.
Here's the league: 12 team $100mil DH (I'm open to change here)
12 inexperienced managers. 500 rating or under
12 experienced mentors. 2000 rating or over
The managers are randomly matched (or just get picked by) mentors.
The manager and mentor combo then set up a team, order a draft list, draft and go through waivers while communicating through email or PM. The mentor can help give insight and advice. Help alter the settings. Whatever it is that you geniuses do.
I figure maybe it should start with the manager making an initial team and tentative ballpark for the mentor to evaluate and go from there.
The incentive would be that the 6 managers with the worst records buy a credit for the 6 mentors with the best records and the winning manager gives on of his 2 free credits to his mentor. So half of the mentors get a credit for their trouble and one of them gets 2.
With as helpful as so many of the players on these boards have been I thought there might be interest in something like this. And I think it would be really helpful to us guys who are falling in love with the game but haven't quite figured out wha the hell we're doing yet.
And I think it sounds like fun.
I'm obviously open to any tweaks to this thing, should it ever get off the ground
