Live draft question

I have tried auto draft leagues but not yet a live draft.

Is there a sample live draft I can try to see how it is set up and run?
Are there good times or days to find these leagues open?
How long does the entire draft take?
are there 24 team live drafts or only 12?

Thanks in advance for the answers

OK, I've done a few of these so I may be able to answer a question or two.

Yes, you can sample. Go to the Rules/FAQ to the Live Draft section. Click on the "How do I test my browser" and it'll offer you the chance to join a "Mock Draft". Not very realistic, but you'll get a feel for a live.

All leagues seem to be down these days, but you'll see most lives on the weekend, although they will show up from time to time during the week.

Draft time is determined by the clock. A 45 second clock will usually see the draft completed within an hour and fifteen minutes, 90 second clock tends to run 2 hours or better. 120 seconds go on forever.

Live draft leagues are 12 teams.

Welcome aboard and enjoy. Ask The Don of Som (DonFESQ) for advice on how to consistently field great teams.

There is a thread on this forum (started by AeroDave) which gives average pick information for 16 or 17 live drafts. That's a really good place to start.

Thanks, but if you don't mind a couple of new questions.

If a player gets hurt, can you swap years on that player?
Do you draft 25 players or 28?
are the divisions random, by sign up order, or determined by draft position?

(I'm also having trouble getting my team in a league...have a separate post to try to figure that out and sent a email to the "contact us" to try for some help)

Yes, you can swap years on a player if he's hurt or nonperforming.

Draft 25, may increase to 28 during waivers.

The division you enter is the one you'll stay in.

Here is a live draft scheduled for tomorrow. It currently has 4 owners and appears to have the best chance of public leagues of filling this weekend. Maybe if it gets close to filling more owners will join.
