I've never done a live draft. This seems like as good a place to ask as any...

1. How long do they take?

2. Is there a strategy? Do you try to build to a park like you do in a capped autodraft? Or is it more of a bet player available type scenario?

On 1: depends on the clock. A 45 sec. per pick clock is usually over
in an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. A 2 minute clock can take
2 hours or more.

On 2: There are at least three strategies that can bear fruit (get you
to the playoffs) from what I have noticed. There may be more. The
most basic strategy is get the best talent that falls to you. Another is
to identify a strong niche (lefty, righty) and make appropriate reaches
where neccesary to fit a target stadium group and counter your
rivals. A third is to grab popular players and trade for what you
need afterward.

Of course, my favorite is to grab who you want, have fun and drink
a brew (like a Blatz).
