My wife is out of town this weekend. She's taking the boy. I decided to give my first Live Draft a whirl.
I set it for Friday night at 9:00PM I can change this if necessary. There's already another one at 11:00, and I feel like a bit of a jerk starting this one but I have to work on Saturday morning and don't feel like being up past 1:00.
Who's comin' with me?

BTW - How low do the salaries usually get in these things? I don't want to waste my time in preparation looking at the Thurman Munsons and Mitch Williamses of the world if they'd never come into play.

I understand about the salary cap. I guess what I meant was, in trying to put together a list of players to target, does the field thin out enough that you need to consider players in the 3-4m range? Or are there enough players for everyone to fill their rosters with players making 7-8m?
Frank Baileys link goes a long way to answering that. Thanks. I remembered that thread, but after 2 minutes of intensive research I didn't find it.

The trick to live drafts is being aware of the useful cards outside of the top 300 salaries. Guys like Brosius, Galarraga, Frank Howard, Danny Darwin, Bob Ojeda, etc. are staples because they mash lefties or are terrific fits for lopsided ballparks.
I can't emphasize too strongly the need to refer to the average draft pick list. Elite starters go in the first couple of rounds, the more mundane guys like go in the middle rounds and some will last "forever."
Finally, be aware of Newhouser and Mossi; they are searchable as SP on the draft app but you want them as relievers. Searching for RP on the draft app is worthless, since all the S/R guys with high salaries get listed ahead of even the elite closers.
Good luck!

How soon before the draft do you know your draft position?
Oh, and, let's fill this up suckas.
10 spots open. Get 'em while they're hot!
