Closer settings - F0

Maybe this has been established on the boards already, but here goes:

I've got Rivera set as closer and don't relieve before F0. I want him in to sink or swim and I don't want HAL pulling him for Hal Reniff...ever.

So, why does HAL insert Rivera into closing situations in three consecutive games?

Mariano comes in with an F0 rating and promptly gives up three runs to tie the game. Even better, HAL brings him back out to start the 10th, where he gives up two quick singles before he's relieved by a rested Dave Smith.

Dave Smith is set as setup, but why doesn't Rivera's fatigue from previously pitching in two consecutive games overrule the setup-closer roles? I don't have a second choice for closer because I don't trust HAL, but is HAL unable to realize that Mariano can't go three days in a row and he should go to another pitcher? He always used to do that for me.

Apparently, by using this setting, you are allowing HAL to USE Rivera whenever a save situation arises.

I have found it very bad to leave anybody in much below F8. It can get ugly.

I had a weird situation the other day. Rod Scurry was -- unfortunately -- my mop up guy. But I did have other relievers remaining in the game. It was a mopup situation, but not a "Blowout."

HAL leaves Scurry in to face 15 batters at F0. I had NO restrictions on him. No Fx setting. No Quick or Slow yank.

I can't figure out pitcher settings sometimes.

I guess my first tweak comes with the F0 setting, maybe set it to F1 or F2 so he won't be tempted to bring him in on an F0 right off the bat.
