Curious if anyone else had ever seeen this circumstance. A Champ with nary a mention on the awards page? No CY, MVP, or Rolaids rankings, no winners or runners up in Gold Glove or Silver Slugger, no first or 2nd team All Stars.
Not that I lost any sleep over it, but did think it was kind of funny. Maybe it is the result of the diluted player pool in the 24 team leagues. Or is this a truly unspectacular, balanced team? Or just lucky? Or did HAL let them win it for Harmon? I led my division for most of the year before a precipitous collapse dropped me to 4th at season's end.

Hmmmm... The link works for me - how do I post a link to a team correctly?

2nd most wins (96), WS champs. Tied for best pythagorean projection (97).
1 Gold Glove (Johnny Mostil) and 4th place in the Rolaids (Narleski).
Lack of awards due to:
Forbes 57 (Tony Gwynn led the team in slugging at .496
Winning due to Defense: Total range from 8 fielders: 9 (Lindstrom was the least rangy)
Team ERA: 3.97, all starters between 4.21 and 4.47, all IP between 258 and 282.
Basically, no one stood out. I'm not even sure how Mostil won the GG, while Terry, Collins, Pena, Lewis and Gwynn didn't. No pitcher was really outstanding (Narleski 29 saves, 3 BS, maybe...)
Loved that team. The balance. Fantastic.

I was sitting 9-14 after July and mixed up the roster a bit. Released '61 KBrew from his own tribute team, but added his '69 likeness, dropped Knoblauch as well and added Peckinpaugh, moving Cronin to DH. Team responded to better defense at SS immediately, going 9-1 to start August and cruised to a decent 6 game lead. Then plummeted, nearly into elimination before rebounding in the playoffs.

Killebrew was arguably the 7th best offensive player for the team during the regular season, but had 10 HR, 19 RBI, .391/.458/.922 in the post season.
A season that reminds me why I love the game!

I think that's the wrong team... That one finished 4th in the west and Killer went .215/.345/.454... appears to be a Sens/Twins theme team.

That is the team - finished 4th in division, but still had the third best wild card record and made the expanded playoff format. Yes, he underachieved during the season, but kicked it during the post-season.
And it was a Twins/Senators theme team.
