Momentum, Improbable, it's just annoying!

Sometimes the game engine just has it set that a team, mostly my team  will lose a game.

Entering bottom of 9th with 5-2 lead, HAL brings in Mariano Rivera & his 3R super stopper card.
What HAL does NOT do however, is to put in my two defensive subs, who were are still are listed as defense replacements, ... Ozzie Smith and Harry Steinfeldt... in the latter case leaving Cabrera and his 4e18 at 3B.
The inning... HAL let's Gary Carter bat to lead off the 9th... what manager leaves in a righty catcher to lead off an inning against the world's best closer? Well HAL of course, and Carter not very surprisingly legs out a bae hit with a 1-14 single effect. Next two batters, both righties, go. to Rivera's crd and land on... 3b(x)... both end up as singles with Cabrera's 4 range left unmercifully on thw hot corner. Three hits later, all off batter's card and the improbable 6-5 comeback victory is complete.
The bigger picture... this is the 3rd game of what becomes a 3 game sweep of my team, as part of a 5 game losing skid where My team is in the process of falling out of the wildcard spot.
I have obviously been on both sides of these kind of crazy finishes, so it's not about griping that I should have won... I lost to a Blatz-filled Mort anyway which is always fun to watch from the opposing dugout so all is good there... it just that the combination of (a) HAL ignoring my defensive subs, (b) HAL leaving the Gary Carter types in the game against a tough Rivera for a leadoff hit, (c) two consecutive rolls to the 3B left in the game, (d) and the loss comng as part of a 5 game skid... that altogether makes we wonder what it is all about, why it happens, etc etc.
In any case, it sure is annoying
