I would use it as a tie breaker between pitchers. Remember that they will pitch more than hit.

When I first played ATG did some themes where I focused hard on hitter pitching. Soon discarded it as a waste of time because had to place those who could hit and pitch too high on draft card. Missed on too many otherwise to really stick with that theme. And typically when I go for a theme I place a priority on the theme with winning secondary.

With the growing pool and as we get more quality pitching it may become more feasible to field a staff of good hitters and a staff of outstanding pitchers. So may try again.
