Vada Pinson ?

Vada Pinson ?

Wondering if anyone had any experience with the new ($7 mil) Pinson card.

I'm thinking about him in an $80 mil league - NL only - playing in Sportsman's Park.

Any thoughts/experiences would be most welcome.

He looks to me like he's better than Willie McGee and worse than Earl Averill. That seems fair, since he's priced in between. His principal attraction, to me, is that he's bulletproof and a better defender than either of the other two.

I've used McGee a couple of times and he's done well at $80 and $100 million caps, so Pinson must be worth a shot. In an $80 million league, he could perform really well.

Thanks for your thoughts; I appreciate it!

I'm also intrigued by the bullet-proof status Vada has on this card, so I'm leaning his way but it's nice to have McGee as a good option also.

I didn't realize, but Pinson had 2757 hits in his 17 year career. I would have guessed less than 1500 hits and less than 10 years for his career. I just remember him as this skinny guy who could really fly.
