Waner or Jackson and How Important is Clutch

Waner or Jackson and How Important is Clutch

Postby kodak4117 » Sun Nov 27, 2011 9:48 pm

My current clutch is poor. How important is that?

Is it worth to drop Jackson and pick up Waner to get another clutch guy. Currently, my only positive clutch guys are Appling and Lindstrom.

Thanks

Bill

I think clutch can be important, and I love Waner. But I wouldn't drop a .408 hitter to get him.

BTW, you might consider downsizing one of your middle relievers to upgrade your backup catcher. Mackey can spend a LOT of time on the DL.

I'm most concerned with clutch in the 4-5-6 slots. It will come up 3 or 4 times a game, I think. It certainly doesn't hurt, but it's not imperative for it's own sake, particularly if your league is RH pitching heavy...
