Jose Reyes signs with Florida.
106mill over 6 years. plus he has a 7th year option for another 22 mill.
JMO. I can't wait till he hurts his leg next year and goes on the DL.
What a waste of money.

As a Met's fan all i can say is the Marlins are insane and with or without Jose the Mets aren't going anywhere next season. I've never been much of a Reyes fan, wondering what stopgap SS's are available. I can't see Ruben Tejada as a full time shortstop.

That's pretty much how I feel. Why spend $17-18 mill on a player when you have holes at almost every position? I can see spending that kind of money if you need thta one big player to get over, but the Mets are so far from that point at this time it's not even funny.

Still it's sad to see one of the few legitimate marquee players, however flawed, that the Mets have had in their prime, jump ship. I blame the Wilpon's for failing to put together a decent product in the best market in the country.

"Commissioner Bud Selig, principal owner Fred Wilpon and family, former GM Omar Minaya and swindler Bernie Madoff -- probably in that order."
I was reading somewhere that blame for Mets loss of Reyes is on Selig,Wilpon,Minaya and Madoff.
Just listening to report that said best Mets could offer was 80m at 5 years.
