1-12 in WS play. Whether my team had best record or winning records against my opponent during the regular season (that has been true in over 50% of teams), it seems totally irrelevant. By statistical chance alone, seems like I should have more wins than 8%

In most recent pair of simultaneous WS losses, one opponent had significant injuries to boot. Couldn't even beat a team playing with backups.

I'm with you, Brooklyn - 2-10 in my last twelve World Series. Best team, wildcard team, healthy, hurt, doesn't seem to matter. In the most recent one, I was the best team by 8 games and by almost 100 run differential, so naturally I was down 3-0 in the series before I could blink. Went 0-3 at home after winning 52 home games during the regular season. Crap.

My worse WS defeat was a 110 win team-
lost to the 2nd place team in my division that I beat by over 20 games and a huge run differential in the regular season.

As much as that defeat stinks, I think I would somehow be okay with it if I was getting some wins elsewhere. Amongst the group I regularly play with, we're fond is saying "on any given strato" to explain losses that don't make a ton of sense. I think I'm going to amend that to "on every given strato..."

My worst streak was 12 straight playoff teams without a title.
My last playoff team had the best record, and I lost in 7 to the 1 team that I didn't match up well with. And then it comes down to luck. Bases loaded- hit into a double play. Bases empty- hit a 2 out triple and be stranded.

Man, a lot of familiar stories....

1 in 9 in Finals in ATG6.

The only ATG ring I won was when a 117 win team got upset
in the semis, not exactly a deserved ring, in any case.

There must be managers that are really the cats meow when
it comes to winning the finals.

I just finished a league where i had 104 wins and lost to the wild card in the semi's. His lineup throughout the series got injured and he had every bench player in the lineup. The outfield best defense rating was a 3 and he had eddie stanky at ss because he lost his shortstop as well so a 5 at short. I got killed. I almost did like you and said why bother. I understand its a dice chance but come on he went game 7 of semi's without a error and his whole team was 3's 4's and fives? Here is a link to game 7.

His team playoff totals so 2 7 game series you can see how many injuries he had by the at bats by his original starters and still beat a 104 win team with home field .

wait til you win a ring with the worst of the four teams in postseason play, you'll appreciate it then... especially if you made the playoffs on the last night of play

Over ATG and 2010 I have one ring in my last 8 appearances in the finals. Add in 10 semifinals losses and of my last 18 playoff teams I have one ring. Guess any idiot can bring home a title with a 128 win team.
