my league consists of:
shea '71, minute maid, wrigley '59, forbes '09 in the east.
ebbets '20, wrigley '78 and a hilltop in the central.
dunn, forbes '09, forbes '65 and forbes '57 in the west.

It seems like many of the high value guys for your park are not available, but your numbers vs RHs are a little low and your average team speed (take away Ozzie) is slightly less than 15 by my calcs.

IMHO keep Sisler and Duffy and Simmons. Maybe down grade Wood and get more speed and OBP vs RHS. Gwynn it would seem is a good fit for the league/team.

Best of luck, sschu

It looks like a heck of a good team to me (though I do not have much experience with 100 mil salary caps). The only thing I think I would change is SS. Sure Ozzie Guillen is a 1 but he is also an automatic out and a rally killer. I would probably downgrade (just a little bit) somewhere else and get a SS with a better OBP.

What will your batting order look like? That Hugh Duffy card is amazing.

okay, so i took some of your advice, or at least i think i did.

batting order left/right:

D:r.thomas
7:j.kelley
8:h.duffy
3:g.sisler
9:a.simmons
5:j.torre
4:b.herman
2:t.munson/t.simmons
6:b.wallace

i dropped wood for score.

how did i do?

IMHO with the staff you have selected, which is good, you need the following:

1. Only one hitter over $10M - Duffy

2. Except catcher, average speed > 16

3. OBP over >450 vs RHs

4. Total range <= 12

5. OF arms -6 total, catcher at least -2.

6. 3/4 SPs must have a zero for one of BP1B sides (LH or RH), both is good. Score it would seem is a potential stud here.

7. One of Heilmann, Simmons (25) or Musial (46).

If you can pull this all off and spend about $33M on pitching, set running to Very Aggressive and hope you win 50+ at home!

Torre, Wallace and Herman do not fit with this approach.

But as always, there are plenty of ways to win in this game. Best of luck!

Outfield arms could not possibly be more overrated, especially LF. The range of the outfielder is at least ten times more important than the arm. Do not worry about your Outfielders' arms.

I think it is a nice looking team.

I would tend to disagree with storm about arms, but this is often where I compromise, often to my detriment. :-)

I would add to my list range of 1 at SS and 2B, no more than 2 at the corners. As there will be a lot of GBs, you want the doubleplays.

The cheaper Sisler can save a lot of $$ and probably will perform well in this park.

Best of luck, sschu

You do not have to have a 1 at 2B and SS to win and as a matter of fact I often feel like the 1s at those positions are overpriced.
