Does anyone know what the record is for innings pitched by a relief pitcher?

don't know the record, but I've seen Adams and Sutter both go over 300 many times.

I just finished a league where Sutter got 329IP for me

How often is the super reliever concept used in 200 mil leagues. Can it be as successful with all the super bats in every lineup?

I think Adams or Three Finger would be the way to go in 200M. Might not work that well for the team, but might be okay to get large innings. I wouldn't go for the record which I think is north of 400 IP by either Miljus (wouldn't want him throwing 400 IP in 200) or Adams.

north of 400 from a relief pitcher is insane.

By the way, anyone know what the real life record is for innings from a reliever. I think I remember Mike Marshall going 208 but do not remember anyone else coming close strictly out of the bullpen.

Mike Marshall is the correct answer. 208 in 1974.

Schultz averages 174 IP at 100M in DD actuals. That is tops among RP only pitchers and 20 more than Wilhelm or Miljus.

There's some kookiness at 140 (someone had Al Schacht throw 271 innings of 10.08 ERA and 2.26 WHIP, with some other one offs... I suspect a theme league). Sutter is #1 among regularly used guys with 105 IP, Miljus 103, Radatz 102.

More than that (like single season record) might require Adrian to do a data pull.

Has anyone tried to use a SP that can also be used as a RP after the night before when he pitched 9 innings? or the next game? I'm in the playoffs in game 6 and would like to put him as my closer or set up man.

Pretty sure he'd be weak if you did that.

Will not allow you to use a guy who is scheduled for the next start in a relief role. In fact, it will not allow a * guy to relieve if he's scheduled in the next two games, or a non-* guy to go if he's in the next three games. You can have Babe Adams start, relieve the next game at F0, then rest three and be fresh.
