Has anyone noticed a problem with this card while facing lefties. Not to many lefties in my division just curious what people were seeing out of joe's new card

at 6R, and with low OB chances vs L, I wouldn't expect much from 1911 Joe Jackson vs L. I don't really expect too much from his 1920 cards Vs L, but forecasts better than 1911.

I used him on a team where I faced righties 80% of the time.
We had a 200 payroll, but all backups had to be less than 3 million.
So I could sit him against most lefties.
He had 545 at bats vs righties. .360 avg, .407 onbase, .528 slug
35 atbats against lefties. .200 avg, .243 onbase, .229 slug
For comparison sakes,
Maris was on the same team. For a few pennies more
Maris vs. righties was .259 avg, .364 onbase, .639 slug
Larry Walker was also on the same team and I did not platoon him. For 2 more million
vs. righties .335 avg, .404 onbase and .648 slug
vs. lefties .267, .343 onbase, .550 slug
Using him now

I just finished this team with 1920 Joe who is 3R. I haven't used his new card, but it's hard to beat the result I got from this one:

I advocated very strongly for the new card. However, typically it has been disappointing so far. Certainly it is the weakest performing of any of the .400 hitters we currently have access to. At least for me. But I love the card on paper.

I actually noticed i had used the 1911 jackson card, and got decent results but have done better with his 1920 card which is a bit more balanced and doesn't leave me fearful vs. lefties. plus i'm playing in wrigley '78 so the W vs. lefties would have hurt

Here are my completed teams, in chronological order, that featured the 1911 Jackson card.

Not a good start. .317?!

Okay, down to .316 but it was 200M.

Much more like it. Hit .369 but only .247 vs. lefties. Was injured a ton, I didn't platoon him either.

This was the last Barnstormer's finals. Had enough confidence in him to use him here. Had the best record in the league, best expanded record as well. Hard to imagine a stronger endorsement for Joe than this.
Joe hit a solid .354, .303 vs. lefties. Tied for the team league in rbi's.

Cut back after this.

Went to him again for this very strong league. But .301? Soured on him after this pathetic year. Maybe he was paid off.
Stopped using him after this year. He seems to have some years in the .355 range, others in the .315 or below range. I don't really believe in small ball at 140 or higher and he costs too much too platoon at lower caps. I'll probably start using him now that I looked up my completed teams. Fair results at small ball, averaged over 91 wins per season with him.

Petro do you ever use 1920 Jackson?
