Looks like Fresco Thompson has been carded to the wrong team. In 1927 he played for the Phillies, and his card here has him playing for the Pirates.

Never used him before, 36 games into the season he is hitting over 400 with 30 rbi. and a load of triples. :shock:

Can he keep it up? Who knows but what a bargain so far for ~ 2 million bucks! :)

I'm using him, too, for the first time (in a franchise theme league -- supposedly the Pirates). Here's his line in 54 games:

54 184 27 59 8 5 1 23 11 16 3 1 .321 .362 .435 .797

I would agree. A pretty good bargain at 2 Mil and change. A 2 at 2b.

It turns out that Thompson -- I must admit to my shame that I had never heard of him until playing him in this league -- was quite a baseball man. Here's a great piece on him, his obit actually in Baseball Digest:
