confused.

*** TOP OF INNING 1 ***
0 R.Thomas 2-4 Fly Out (RF) b-0 bpSI 1-8 F9
1 D.Dimaggio 6-8 Fly Out (CF) b-0 F9
2 H.Duffy 6-7 Ground Out (2B) b-0 gb(2B)x F9

the pitcher was a RHSP and r.thomas has a >4-gb(3b)B in the 2-4 slot. so how did he flyout to RF?

In the super advanced game This symbol > denotes a ballpark single result. You basically ignore the gb(3b) reading when playing super advanced and instead you roll the d20 to determine a single, based on the ballpark rating.

okay thanks. i understood what the > meant, but i did not know that it would transfer the play to the out field. i just assumed that it would be a single to somewhere near where the play was originally. and i do have another ? for you.

what was the second roll for the BP single?

T1 H. Duffy 6-7 gb(2B)x Ground Out (2B) b-0
T1 D. Dimaggio 6-8 Fly Out (CF) b-0
T1 R. Thomas 2-4 bpSI 8 Fly Out (RF) b-0

Did Josh Gibson take two bases on a sac fly and score? That's a Cool Papa Bell move if he did - " turned off the light, and got in bed before the room was dark".

On the sac fly, there is a "rare play" on the chart where the outfielder makes a spectacular catch, but bashes into the wall and all runners advance two bases. Josh ain't no Cool Papa Bell. :)

I have not seen that sacrifice fly scenario in real life. But Josh Hamilton and Elvis Andrus on the Rangers have both scored from second in a groundout where they simply never stopped running.

Thanks for explaining that. Gotta love Strat. Would be super cool to have that narration on the replay.

I did it once many years ago.

Wet field, I'm on 2nd. Pop up down the LF line. SS makes a nice over the shoulder catch. I'm off, as the 3rd basemen went down the line, and I figure all I have to do is beat the pitcher to third. SS plants his feet and all he does is slide on his....end...3b coach is waving me around, so I go for it. Throw is a bit up the 1b line, I slide on the 3b side, safe. I'm told that the fielder tried to get up and slipped again before he regained his footing, and made a flatfooted throw without much on it. Nothing he did warranted an error

I'm sure we've all been involved in plays that would look good in a box score.
