Announcement from Steve Ames

Hi Guys! I have just been discharged after 35 days in Vandrbilt University Medical Center. They could not correct the problem and most likely I will have to go on some form of disability for the rest of my days. I was told my second day in the hospital that I had been terminated from my job and the likelihood of getting employment is zero (or for healthy existence for that matter). I have to cut back immediately on luxuries and although this is my only form of entertainment I simply cannot continue to justify the expense while not being able to provide for my family. So I have used up my available credits and will see those teams through the end but I will not create any further teams. I was signed upf or multiple 12 season theme leagues as these were the types of leagues that I most enjoyed and not being able to continue makes me the sort of pest I used to growl about but I simply cannot. I appreciate any notes of encouragement, sympathy but please do not offer me any money or credits etc. That would be inappropriate and definitely NOT what I am looking for. I was hoping to find a central place to inform about my status as I was involved in a LOT of themes.

Your friend,
Steve Ames (errormagnate)

If you had Long term disability thru your job, you should check to see if it's portable.

If it is portable, you have x number of days to notify the insurance company (depends on the plan) that you wish to continue your Portability Eligible Disability Income Insurance.

If your job had the LTD, you should also consider contacting a disability lawyer and try to set up a free consultation.

There is of course Social Security Disability, but that can take a very long time to obtain. When it is awarded they will pay you retrospective to the date they receive your application, so it is important that you file promptly. They will demand medical records for review. Make sure that you make copies of all of the records and save them in case they " lose" the records that you have sent in. I have seen this happen to my patients more than once...You will be missed. I hope your fortunes turn around very soon.

Wow, what a sad day. :(
Steve, although we have all known you only online, I can say it has been a [b:e4c694c95f]distinct pleasure[/b:e4c694c95f] to compete with you, know you, and form all kinds of franchise/theme leagues, knowing that [b:e4c694c95f]errormagnate[/b:e4c694c95f] would be the first one to sign up. :D

You will definitely be missed, and my prayers are for recuperation and improvement for you. Check in on us now and again, and even if we dont ever compete in leagues together again, may God bless you and strengthen you in the days ahead.

Andy
