Bernie: Problem w/Max 6 Inning/Start setting - STILL WAITING

Bernie -
Doesn't the pitcher setting for Max 6 innings per start mean a starter should only pitch 6 innings or less? A starter should not be pitching 6 and 1/3 innings or 6 and 2/3 innings. Last night, on opening night of a season, in game 1 no less, I had a starter on quick hook and max 6 innings per start pitch 6 and 2/3 innings in a game. Please see below for the link to the boxscore.
Bernie, please look into this problem ASAP and fix it accordingly. Thanks.

I think it's a guideline for HAL, not an etched in stone Wrath of God type rule.

Yep. If he's going good, why pull him? Even if he is on an inning restriction.

I understand the beef in general. If you have a spot starter or sub standard starter in (with a bad card) you would want him pulled ASAP if you have a respectable bullpen option.
However I don't see why in this game it bothers you as your starter (Barker) didn't implode due to being used the extra 2/3 of an inning.
But all in all I'd be in favor of a few controls that were absolute in nature.

Why pull him if he is going good???
Simple - in this game you can go from going good to giving up a 3-run home run in a blink and I'd much rather have Dale Murray trying to prevent that then Len freaking Barker...

Do you mean the same Len Freaking Barker who pitched a perfect game that season and went to the all-star game? ......I am just messing with you because I am a Tribe fan and I remember that game as a small child.
The above posters are correct that the settings are more of a guideline and not etched in stone. I understand your concern, it is too bad we don't have a little bit more control. That is why I play the CD-ROM and manage some actual games as well as play in leagues here.
I am making somewhat of an educated informed guess, but this is probably not something Bernie can fix, it is part of the game engine and SOM would have to fix it.
ShakeyBoomer, good luck with Len Barker, Dale Murray (aka Super Reliver) and the rest of your team.

Some thoughts:
I would think if it is a guideline then it should be renamed.
Is it possible that in the program it says "less than 7", which of course is not the same as max 6 so it let him get to 6.2? (Probably easy to tell that this is wrong if he pitched beyond the second out.....did not look at link and am thinking of this now  )
Best way to get Bernies attention is to e-mail through the help link.

If you click the "help with these settings..." text at the top of the pitchers settings panel you will find a little more information. It is copied below:
[i:04f899a977]Max 6 IP for start / Max 7 IP for start
When this setting is active for a starting pitcher, he will be lifted from a game he's started no later than after 6 (or 7) IP, no matter how well he is pitching. This is close to, if not 100%, strict - with the exception of the "Don't Relieve Before" setting of Bullpen v2, which will keep the pitcher in past 6 or 7 IP if called for. [/i:04f899a977]
So it does appear that the 6 inning maximum can be overridden by the fatigue settings. Did you also have an F-level set for Barker? If so, that may explain why Barker pitched to 3 batters in the seventh. If you want him to go 6 only I would try removing any F-level (if it is currently set). That way Murray can get in there as soon as possible.

There was absolutely no fatigue level set for Barker. Why in the world would I do that when it works contra to the Max 6 innings per start setting.
