High injury team

High injury team

Postby motherscratcher » Mon Mar 12, 2012 7:49 pm

I have a team starting tonight with these players:

C - Ira Thomas
1B - Jeff Bagwell
3B - Ed Delahanty
OF - Ty Cobb
OF - Sam Thompson

All are 15 game injury risks. I have no bulletproof players in my lineup. I don't mind a little risk, but dang, this is making me nervous.

I was also smart and left no money for decent backups.

Is this a disaster waiting to happen?

That is pretty normal for me. Here is my last team that just lost the Finals--

Six starters with 15-game injury risk. But look at the production. You get about 1-2 million bonus in salary with the 15 gamers. Dimaggio performed way under his usual numbers, but he was the only one. He's usually close to .400/.400/.650.

Got a ring with this team:

I agree, you do get a nice discount if you're willing to gamble on the injuries.

1-2 million discount per player usually, or all together for your particular roster?

Wow, I didn't know that taking a higher injury risk was worth that much. I feel a little better about it.

This is a different kind of team for me. I decided to go with the injury risks, go a little "meh" on defense, and try out the Dale Murray pitching staff. We'll see how it goes.

Opening day saw me score more runs than I gave up, yet only win one game.

Oh, BTW, Bagwell is injured for 2 more games and Duffy is injured for 3 more games LOL. C'mon HAL, cut me some slack here. We've only played 3 games.

How do you think I feel, I come off of opening day success to see 3 starters all integral to my lineup hurt going into the next series.
