What to do?

What to do?

Postby shep4117 » Sun Apr 29, 2012 6:57 am

Hi guys. I always appreciate the advice so I figured I would ask the masses again.

The parks in my division are Angels '05, Wrigley '41, and Griffith '41. The division is split 50/50 with righties and lefties.

I know that I need another *pitcher and some better PH's as this is a non-DH league.

Do I cut Pete free and grab two 6mil *P?
Will Beckwith's 4 kill me?
Do I downgrade Wagner to Bowa, keep Alexander, and upgrade to a 6mil P?
How worried should I be about Wagner's injury risk. If I keep him, I should pick up a serviceable replacement.
Should I pick up a .5 catcher so Beckwith doesn't need to catch?

As always. Thanks

Bill

Why do you have 4 back up second basemen, costing you 2.5ish?

Who is going to play first?

The draft gave me 4 second basemen. It will be changed before the season starts. I may use Rogan at first or pick up Sisler.

use delahanty at 3b. use rogan whereever but keep him. i'd drop beck as his #hrs are outs in your park. u can go with a cheap obp guy.

Agree on Del and Rogan, i dont see beck anymore?
Anyway- Id keep Pete I think, but I think you can cut a couple hitters and upgrade something.
Like the Wagner, ECollins combo.
Im not seeing where you are gonna use Shano.

Really try to minimize the amount of money on your bench.... you have about 2m extra on backups that could be used to upgrade somewhere else.

Collins/Jamieson platoon... drop and get a 3B... move Delahanty into OF.

Proper adjustments and you should have about 5.5M for 3B

Also... I don't think I could ever play a 100M team with BOTH Collins and Wagners 3/11 injury cards.

Bang for the buck, Novie. I'll usually carry 5 or 6 15 game injury risks, if not more. Usually works out.

My best ever team, a 105 win Minute Maid in a 100M league, had 8 15-game risks in the lineup, and the nickel Ray Jablonski got 230 ABs. Watching him bat .180 was painful, but the overall results paid off.

Having 15 game risks are one thing, having your 2B/SS combo batting at top of your order and BOTH having 3/11 injuries is a little different, no?
