had a 107 win team that beat Petrosian by 28 games, match up against an 82 win playoff team that you handled well winning 7 of 9 during the regular season only to get beat by them in the semis in 5? I have. :D

its all part of the 'proprietary' game code which states:
Thou shalt never know the true nature of the game as we keep it hidden from public eyes.

Yup! 106 wins....squared off with the wildcard that I'd wiped 12-0 in the regular season. Got swept, of course

It has happened in real MLB..Mets beat Dodgers 10 out of 11 games in 1988 only to get knocked out by LA in playoffs.

Could add to the last 2 posts the season Red Sox beat Cardinals in World Series when boston was the wild card that needed historic comeback against the yankees and Cardinals had 100 win team. Flip side Cardinals beat Detroit after sneaking in. And anyone remember last year when Cards snuck in and then won it all.
First question is how did the strato code manage to control those Cardinal series, the 2001 Mariners, the referenced 1988 season and countless others if we had the time.
Might be fun to do the research and see what percentage of the time in real life the team with the most overall wins finished on top after playoffs. And how many times a team lost to someone in the playoffs they had won the regular season series against. Talking about who won regular season series makes for good baseball tonight filler prior to a series but has nothing to do with who wins come playoff time in strat or real life.
Second question is how many of us who have had 100 win teams lose in the playoffs have had less than 90 win teams win the finals? How many of us complain about those sub-90 teams winning?

The 2000 Yankees had the NINTH best record in MLB and won the World Series.
