Has anyone ever watched or listened to a lot of major league baseball games?
If you answered yes, how many times has there been catchers interference?
Almost never, but I am seeing this come up quite frequently. Either the code should be changed or this should be dropped completely.

It seems to me that this comes up once or twice per season in MLB....and I do not watch every game.

Interesting. So in a bad year, every team will have 1.

*** TOP OF INNING 3 ***
0 M.McGwire 6-10 Catchers Interference - C b-1 catch-x F9
0 1 M.Williams 1-9 Fly Out (CF) b-0
So they happen once a year per team, but this is my 2nd in 4 days.
Like I said, Change the code or eliminate it.

*** BOTTOM OF INNING 3 ***
0 R.Santo 4-4 Catchers Interference - C b-1 catch-x F9
Make that 3 times in 4 days
My guess is it is happening waaaaaay to much.

Eyeballing the graph, it looks like there is about 1/100 chance of a catcher's interference coming up per game (counting both teams).
So if you get a catcher's interference in any given game, the odds don't change for the next game. There would be 1/100 chance of having another the next game. The odds of having it happen again in the next three games (like happened to you) is just under 3 percent.
In fact if the very first batter or two gets on by catcher's interference, there is almost 1/100 chance that it will happen again in the same game!
This is a recurring theme in the game. If something rare happens, that does [b:cc81fddbbc]not[/b:cc81fddbbc] mean odds favor it not happening again for a long time. Quite the contrary--the odds don't change.
