I remember a 70s league where Grant Jackson, a relief pitcher, won MVP, Cy Young, and Fireman award.

It seems to happen more regularly than you might think. But it does seem that when a pitcher is up for MVP consideration he usually wins; he doesn't seem to finish 5th in MVP voting.

But then again, I'm probably wrong, as usual....
