Waiver question

If I drop a player during the waiver period can I also make waiver claims?
I see other clubs dropping players and if the warning message is true I would move up in the order. Could someone please explain this for me..

after the draft is run they will give you 15 players as hitters. you are allowed if needed to drop 2 players to free up cash to gaither extra waiver money. so most drop the 2 players. once this is done you now can go to free agency and put in a waiver claim on someone. your allowed to make up to 8 claims on players. the order of waiver is based on who gets the least amount of players on their draft card. the team the gets the least of their players select first. now when you put in a claim 0n a player you 1 must have the funds to get that player. if not you will go to your next selection, or 2 can get the cash by also dropping one of your remaining 13 to free the cash. but know this when all the waivers and such are done you must fill the positions required. hope this helps you a little bit.

bunze0 explained it pretty well. If you go to your main team page, you will see an "info" section on the left. It has a thing on rules and FAQ. The section on waivers is pretty good. Basically, if someone drops a player before waivers, it does not move you up the list. Under the waivers section of your team, it will say near the bottom the waivers order. If you don't get a waiver pick (because you didn't have enough money or because someone picked him in waivers ahead of you, you move down to your next waiver pick.

Some examples:

First, almost always players outright drop 2 of their hitters to give them more money for waivers. Lets say you are third in the waivers process. You have selected Ted Williams first (dropping Ty Cobb), Joe Morgan second (dropping Rogers Hornsby) and Honus Wagner third (dropping Ozzie Smith). For your fourth pick, you select Roger Clemens (dropping Kid Speer).

Team #1 selects Joe MOrgan on the first waiver pick - this kills your second pick.
Team #2 selects Ted Williams. They get him, and your first pick fails.
On your turn, because your first 2 picks were already taken, you would get Honus, provided that you had enough cash [u:8f9e9d1a1a][b:8f9e9d1a1a]after[/b:8f9e9d1a1a][/u:8f9e9d1a1a] dropping Ozzie Smith.

Assume that no one picks Clemens in the rest of that round, nor do Teams 1 &2 select him in the second waiver round. You would get him provided you had enough cash after dropping Speer. In this example, you had counted on saving big money with the Hornsby drop which did not happen, so you probably don't have enough money to get Clemens. In this case, you would not lose Speer, because he is only dropped if your waiver pick can go through.
