Any advice on this team would be appreciated. It is pre-waivers and I got first pick. Turns out Mcclain 2nd and Koufax 3rd are not high enough.
Obviously, I didnt get most of the guys I wanted, but what should I concentrate on?
The best/most expensive pichers available are Camnitz, Scott, Koosman, Walters, Lemmon, Dineen, Lanier, Maddox
Hitters available are Mantle, Gherig, Ruth, Williams, Hornsby, Brett, Fo, Dimagio, Rickey, Stargel, Morgan, Clark, Yount, Schmidy, Campinella, Kuyler and Boggs.
I assume this is typical for ATGII. You are more limited by the salary cap than by players available, but I was wondering if any of these guys made more sense in Grifith.
It seems like Grove, is the weak link in my rotation, but he is the only lefty. or am I overvaluing Drysdale? Why is he so inexpensive?

You have a nice foundation for a deadball park. Here are some of my suggestions:
1) Cut 2 bench players - you only need to carry 13, and it frees up cash for my next suggestions. Collins can not be hurt, so Bowman can go. You have 4 backup OFs - ditch one of those.
2) You are very right handed, and Horton and Jones are not good fits for Griffith. See if Rolfe is available at 3b.
3) Quirk is a good C backup at a hitters' park, but not so much at pitchers. Look for Steinbach or Lake.
4) Grove is best suited for a hitters' park, and I'm not a huge Cy fan. I might replace those two with Camnitz and a cheaper lefty like Kaat, McGregor, or Cuellar. Drysdale is cheap because he has a billion ballpark HRs on his card...which makes him a good fit in Griffith, where those turn into harmless flyballs.
5) Your bottom 3 relievers aren't good. There's some good cheap pitchers park relievers, like Wade, Bair, Dreisewerd, Shoffner, and even Sambito and Garman.
6) If all those hitters are available, I'd guess this is a league full of Griffiths, Forbes, and other pitchers parks, so guys suited for those parks will be at a premium. If you can get Rolfe or another LH bat at 3b, I'd lean towards either Camnitz or Cuyler as the #1 waiver pick. You already have Mays, so in Griffith you don't need another big offensive gun. Resist the urge - unless you want to load up on offense and get cheaper value SPs (like Boyd, Cuellar, McGregor, Kaat, Sanderson). Just decide one away or the other.
I like the offensive base of Schalk, Hernandez, Collins, Bush, Mays, Clemente. If you can upgrade LF and 3b with at least one lefties, get one more good bullpen arm, and trade in Grove and Young for better pitchers, you will have a very good team.

In addition to 3B and LF, I thought my biggest hole was SS. Honus is available. I have never seen a 1e54 though. Where would you rank Wagner in relation to the other free agents. hen again, should I just stick with Bush (1e68!) What is the point in getting to every ball if you are going to drop half of them?

Honus is HUGE in Griffith. You need his OBP and speed. Don't worry about the errors so much because his range will turn a lot of DPs. I also like Koosman as a good LHP.

Gardner and Pendleton seem like good cheap options at 3B. Any info on those guys or any other good 3B options?

I dismised Bush early on because I didnt draft him (and I never heard of him) but on closer inspection he seems pretty good. Am I correct in assuming that neither Cuyler or Wagner are likely to make the second round of waivers? If so, should I go with Cuyler (since I have no intention of using Horton)?
Other available high OBP/inexpensive LFs are Leibold, Kuntz, Jamieson, Coleman, Devore.
Available 3Bs are Boggs, Gardner, Pendleeton, Brett, Molitor
If I dont get Wagner, I think I would stick with Bush

If you can get Gardner, Wagner, and Cuyler, I'd do it. Leibold is the best of those cheap OBP types in LF.

the question is which one do I go for first? upgrade Bush for Honus and risk losing Kuyler or take Kuler and risk not getting HOnus?

List Cuyler first, Wagner second. Cuyler is a lock for a first round waiver pick, while Honus might not get chosen at all.
