How to improve this team's pitching?

In Sportsman's 46 - league mostly hitters/neutral parks, a couple pitchers parks (my division is Ebbets 53, Dodger 65 and Yankee 56). Started out hot at 14-4 but am now 35-34 and sinking fast. Pitching awful last 36 games (13-23). 4th starter and bullpen have been big problems. I'm debating dropping Walberg for a non-* and rotating Knowles, Faber, and another new cheapie, and using the extra $ in bullpen. Lots of cheap starters in this league have outperformed Whitey Ford (24 HRs given up already). Any suggestions? Should I wait another week? Thx in advance.

I'm not a fan of Whitey Ford. I have a feeling he will be cheaper in ATG 3

Whitey responded to the challenge last night with 6 no-hit innings, albeit in Dodger '65.

Any thoughts on Mogridge vs. Ford? Anyone? Bueller?

I play Sportsmans 46 a lot & have had Ford several times. He's hit & miss, but I've had some good seasons from him. Here are some team links to peruse for other options:

Good luck. BTW, I'd keep him.

Thanks for the response. I am definitely going to keep Ford for a while, but I like to ask these questions occasionally to come up with some long-term options.

Walberg is another story, but I'll probably give him a little more time to turn it around.

To me, Walberg is unusable - not a low enough WHIP for a pitchers park, too many BP HRs for neutral/hitters' parks. I'd dump him for a nickel SP (preferably someone with no relief rating - Medich, Leal, Sellers, Tudor, Nipper to name a few), then upgrade Fosnow to the best $3-4M reliever you can afford. A nice lefty would help - Lefferts and Baumgartner come to mind.

Thanks. Tend to agree - I was leaning that way (dumping Walberg). I think I might go for another cheap SP so I can play matchups w/Faber/Knowles/new guy. Some decent choices available w/Cvengros, Rommel, Vance, Yerkes.
