having trouble with a division full of LHP......... and my pitching is already the worst in the league, considering downgrading it more to help offense
Would replacing Demaree & Santiago with Ruether & Bob Miller and replacing McDougald, Leibold, & Reggie with Joe Gordon, Cleon Jones, & Jose Canseco help this team? ................OR don't take the salary hit

I actually like that team. You probably have a positive or close run diff, based on scoring 50 more runs than earned runs surrendered. Other than some Quiz struggles, your bullpen is performing well and set up well. Your starters aren't great, but that's the sacrifice to get a lineup with Mays, Reggie, Banks, Mathews, and Campy. Demaree's ERA of 5 isn't terrible in Baker - about what I would expect - and it helps the pen to have one innings hog. I might consider dropping Santiago for a Vance/Frock type 5th starter, and use the 1.4 million (including your leftover cash) to convert Paskert and Leibold to Oglivie and Brouhard.

would RP be better off setting Quiz to close, Fryman to setup & Lefferts to float? i currently have Fryman/Quiz at setup with Lefferts floating & no closer.

also, since the first post I made a trade, ended up with Alou over Leibold in LF and Joe Gordon at 2b, McDougald at 3b over Mathews & Mcdougald. I'd appreciate some advice for the best batting order for Campanella, Norm Cash, Gordon, Banks, McDougald, F.Alou, Mays, & Reggie Jackson

You dug yourself a nice little whole to try and get out of . I don't think with your staff you will get back to .500. Maybe 78-84 at best . No matter where you play you have to have some kind of pitching and your starters just won't keep you in games long enough to score all the runs you'll need to win . Good luck though and watch those hitting stats , they'll be fun ! :D
