How would you bat these guys in Polo '36

1. Wagner, Honus (R) SS
2. Meusel, Bob (R) RF
3. Simmons, Al (R) LF
4. Wilson, Hack (R) CF
5. Campanella, Roy (R) C
6. Frisch, Frankie (S) 2B
7. Gardner, Larry (L) 3B
8. Waitkus, Eddie (L) 1B

I wish it was Fenway with all those power righties, but I wasn't able to get Gehrigner or Collins to play 2B and the only Lefty RF availible (and affordable) that slugs better than Meusel is McCovey and I fear his injury, so I'm sort of stuck.

Or would I be better off taking Mantle and some lesser player over Simmons and Hack?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Can you post a team link?

You must have a lot of money tied up in pitching, because you've got 3 dead spots in the lineup and that means you're gonna struggle.

Do not drop Simmons or Meusel.

I'd rather see the money used for Campy downgraded to Carter, Lollar, May or Parrish and then upgrade your 6, 7, & 8 hitters.

Thanks.

In a park so hitter friendly, maybe downgrade some pitching? No need for a good closer if the games won't be close?

I would get rid of Frisch and Waitkus. Evers would be a better choice and platoon him w/ a cheapie 2nd (Javier, Schaefer type). You need more power from the 1st baseman . You can get the $$ from Campy like Rich said . I'd keep the OF ! You've got Hack surrounded with 1's .

Sadecki and Grant are gonna get pounded as is Lopez.

I'd downgrade your starters to 4 * starters in the $5-$6 Mill range.

And then get yourself a closer and a setup man. Rommel also serves no purpose on your team.

Niehoff does nothing for you, if you can't get Javier or Mazeroski, don't bother.

Made a TON of changes. I utilized baseballreference.com and focused on pitchers with low HR/IP ratios. Got Foxx, Cochrane, G. Bell, and Evers instead of scrub, Frisch, Campy, Gardner. Thanks for the help, I hope it works!

Looks much better. Since Evers can't be hurt, Niefhoff serves no purpose. And unless you are in a DH league, better to swap Bell for a .50 player and put the money into a stronger RP.

Good luck.
