Oldest living major-leaguer turns 100 tomorrow.

I don't know if any of your local papers pick up this story from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about the oldest living major leaguer - Howdy Groskloss - who turns 100 tomorrow.

Sounds like quite a life - and quite a man.

I can honestly say I have never heard of that guy. I wonder if HE has ever heard of himself? Now I have to look him up on the register.

Wow. I probably could have heard about him in the JAMA as easily. I will check this week to see if he is mentioned. Thanks for bringing this in.

Great story. Reminds me of growing up in Virginia in the late 50's. They trotted out the oldest living Civil War veteran a couple of times, till they all died. I think there was a thing in one of the Troy Soos "Mickey Rawlins" mysteries about Mickey being at the Hall of Fame as the oldest living MLB player (in the first book about Murder at Fenway Park).
