Do you?

My division is Forbes, Griffith and sportsman's 46.

Not sure how to bat them though, I was thinking:

Meusel
Gehringer
Cuyler
Musial
Cochrane
Gardner
Flood
Crosetti

What about the bullpen...too much? Or not enough? Who closes, Tincup? This is only my 4th team overall, using most of these players for the first time.

First question would be why do you have Tinker & Buckner, Musial, Crosetti & Gardner cannot be hurt, you don't need backups for them. Even if you're thinking of Buckner as a LH PH, he doesn't fit your park or division.

Point is, I'd make any backups, pinch hitters, pinch runners, scrubs be outfielders or 2nd basemen only.

Crosetti should be upgraded anyways, with all the pitchers parks you're gonna play in, he'll be lucky to hit .200 for you. Bowa, Fernandez, Aparicio, Peckinpaugh, Chapman will all give you similar defense with more offense.

I think Hubbell & Young are overkill, I'd rather see you downgrade them and upgrade Roberts & Cuellar.

Riddle does not fit your park, nor does Borbon. Get some lower WHIP value guys who have a few BP HR's on their cards. Brusstar is gonna get innings no matter what you do, so I'd think about dumping him too.

Tincup would make a nice setup guy, Henry can close vs. LH, but you'll need a righty closer.

Here's the Sportsman team in the division. :D There are 4 nice teams, this is going to be a tough season.

I like the team as well. I don't mind the rotation - just saw Cy put up 22 wins and a 2.3 ERA in Forbes in one of my leagues. The previous bullpen advice is right on - Riddle's WHIP will kill you. There's some sub 1M guys with low WHIP and a few BPHR chances who would be a huge upgrade over Riddle/Brusstar.

XerXes, I would drop Brusstar for Leal/Nipper/Medich and replace Roe with with one of them also, or at least with Slaton or Knowles. Stick him in the 5th slot in the rotation so he will veeeerry rarely see action, but won't do as much damage if he does.

Other than that, I like your team. It's going to be a tough race.

This is probably one of the most pitching park-heavy leagues I've been in

East -
Stick
griffith
Royals
Dunn

Central -
Forbes (XerXes)
sportsman (me)
Griffith
forbes

West -
Ebbets
Sportsman '46
Polo
Yankee '56

I had Gordon, but downgraded him to white and beefed up my pen. Missed out on Speaker in Waivers, but got Simmons. Uncomfortable having a "2" in CF. Not too sure about this team, But I like my SPs.

Gonna be a tough league.

XerXex' team scares me, but I think my pitching will save the day.

I play in Forbes quite often as well, and I do not believe Young or Hubbell are overkill. When I create a Forbes team I do not want to have 2 #3 mil guys in my pen. I would downgrade Beggs to a Pattin or Sisk and turn Crosetti to Aparicio or Peck as suggested already. I might also go with Pendleton over Gardner but that is just to free up some $$$$. Roberts and Cuellar might work based on the league make up but I would be hesitant to have 2 guys like that. I'd feel much better if one of them could turn into Grove.
