It Takes A Real Man To Admit His Failures .....

Enough already everyone bragging about their incredible successes ...

Let's try to outdo each other with our failures, here is my only 100 loss team:

Now in fairness to ... well, me ... it was a crazy experiment that failed miserably.

But, perhaps if we all admit our biggest mistakes, others will benefit from it.

Here's my only 100 loss team as well - it was ugly from day 1 - being in a HR Derby league with a couple of studs (Banks & Money) and a bunch of pop-guns. Not to mention the absolute worst P staff in history - yes, Pete was a late addition (we couldn't have P's over 3mil, I think) until after 99 games. This was the longest season I've ever been thru, but was fun to see the scores!

Being the master of the mediocre teams (over 1/2 finish with between 82 and 87 wins), I've never had a 100 game winner or 100 game loser. This is the worst team run differential wise I've assembled...or, how not to assemble a starting staff in a slugging park. And I'm still pissed at Rickey and Robin for their seasons, even after a year.

94 losses is my worst club. I'm surprised it didn't lose 100 though...

First mistake, selecting Comiskey '19. It's a cursed stadium. Second mistake, dumping good guys who had slow starts.

Dumped York, McLain, and O'Neill for Cepeda, Key, and Seminick. Later traded Cepeda, Orosco, Nelson, and Walter Johnson for Gehrig, Staley, Lefferts, and Ruether.

None of it helped.

59-103 and my worst run differential as well, but my pythagorean record was 66-96. Everyting went wrong.

Started off wrong in an unfamiliar stadium then decided platoons would be a great idea.

Sad indeed.

I thought I was all big and bad. I had reached the playoffs in all four rounds of the second Barnstormer's Tour and I advanced to the final round. I thought getting Mays would guarantee me a playoff appearance like he had in every season I had him on up until now. Gordon and Bando were a drain on the team. Overall I did not have any OBP other than Wagner who I dropped after multiple 15 game injuries. The result, my worst team to date:

My only 100+ loss team:

It was a bomber league that I drafted basically as a small-ball team. It didn't work  (obviously!)

This team was last in offense and last in pitching. This team was SO bad, it took me from being well over .500 as a manager to being just below .500.

Geez Louise, I hate this team....

My only venture into a $200MM league (my second team) had Dunn Field and had a initial lineup of 7 righties 1 leftie Gwynn and Murray traded and raided for any leftie -
The amazing thing was this team finished 3rd in the division.

Warren Spahn pulled out game 162 to collect team win 63 and avoid triple digit losses!
