Guidance Needed

After winning 3 rings in 4 trys, my last few teams have really stunk.

He is my team after waivers, but before the season.

Others in division include, Dunn, Griffith 24, and Royals 80.

Other than Mays, I have never used any of the hitters. Schalk, Luderus, and Lazzeri are not speed demons, but the rest can run. My OBP is weak, which I think will hurt me at Candlestick.

I was thinking of downgrading McLain to a 5.5 mil *starter, releasing Lazzeri and Henderson and pick up Hornsby and Selkirk. I get a little slower, but my OBP is higher. I could also just release Lazzeri and pick up Gilliam to increase both speed, OBP, and D.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

With Giusti & Tippy, I'd downgrade Fryman into a sub $3.00 mill value reliever (Maybe Lamp???). Then turn Shoffner & Miller into nickel starters that you can bury. Use the money saved to upgrade Morris into a $5-$6 Mill starter.

Schalk is fine, though I like Gibson better.

If it were my team, I'd look for a "1" at 2B, but it looks like Evers is the only viable option on the wire, so maybe Gilliam is the best option.

I'd also look for a replacement to Henderson in LF. But, I don't see a viable option there either.

One other observation is that your team is also very right handed, you might wanna try to scare up a lefty bat or two.

Sorry I couldn't offer a little more help.

I would suggest dumping Fryman and picking up the best available *-pitcher in place of Lolich. I like Gilliam at 2B, but if you're considering Hornsby, you might look for a Heathcote/Buford type in LF.

In Candlestick, I would go with Evers at 2B. Hornsby is too expensive for that position. Evers is a (1), no injuries, and LHB. He is a decent #8 hitter, and can steal bases like crazy. Use the Hornsby money elsewhere.

IMHO. :)
