Exhibition 85 Team - Whaddya Think?

Exhibition 85 Team - Whaddya Think?

Postby sschu » Mon Apr 24, 2006 6:18 pm

Playing in a new domain, Exhibition 85. Mostly hitters league, 80% of my games in neutral or hitters park, Dunn team in my division.

Lineup:
Lollar
Ripper
Whit/Maz
Rolfe
Honus
Kiki
Duke
Clemente

SPs:
Mayer
Stewart
McGregor
Nolan

RPs:
Lyle
Baum
Wyatt
Osinkime

These neutral park teams never seem to have enough pitching or hitting ... ;-)

Suggestions?

Love the offense. Ideally, I'd like a Dean/Mullin type to front the rotation with a team like this and let Mayer be a # 2. I'd also get Mogridge, but that may be a personal preference.
Good luck, Scott.

I don't crunch numbers and usually play better than I predict so I hope I'm wrong here.

I just have a bad feeling with this combo.

Lotsa doubleplays, too much negative clutch, four 15 game injury risks including 3 that get hurt on #3 (Wagner, Clemente, Lollar) scare me the most. Starters that usually run hot and cold for me, (and more often cold in hitters parks) and speaking of hot or cold Lyle leading the pen can be worrysome.

Like I said I hope I'm wrong. :?

Watch out for that dominant pitching staff out West....

I would like one more home run hitter. Maybe Money at 3rd base. I am not sure how your pitchers will due, namely Stewart. MtheB's Dunn team looks solid, as does the Shea team. The Fenway team will get ot hit in his own park, imo.

Good input, txs guys.

The numbers crunch pretty good, but some things do not get measured. DPs and injury risk are a couple.

Mogridge for Stewart is fine, he "crunches" a bit less than Stewart. Not enough funds to get to Mullin without another move, I'll look.

Rolfe was the guy I was consdiering for a move, but he is one of my favs.

I've hardly ever seen Mogridge put up decent season's . Stewart was the one that didn't look like a good fit but Mog is no replacement IMO . If you go lefty John is better than Mog .

Hmm, just cannot pull the trigger on Mogridge, I might regret it. Lyle is an experiment, may also regret it! :)

I usually go by the numbers, lemmme think about it.

Mogridge on a current team in a similar stadium:

Mogridge was nice in ATG I, but like many other pitchers he has become useless to my in ATG II.
