have been messing around with some of these guys to varying success. Clearly some guys are either way too pricey or simply ineffective. was wondering if there were any thoughts on the best and best valued 5-man rotation guys.

The best is Babe Adams . There are quite a few who can have really good season's . The expensive ones are generally very good . As the price drops , so does their performances.

It's all about tailoring them to the right park. If you do that well, you can get tremendous value for very cheap. I really like Ceccarelli, Bennett, Craig, and B. Johnson in pitcher parks; same goes for Ruether, Speer, Vance, Leever, Cvengros in homer parks. Potentially you can put together a solid pitching staff for 10-15 mil and have a ton of money to build a great lineup.

Use diamonddope.com, and check out the pitchers in the parks you are in. There are a lot of good values in the 4-6 million range, especially Works and Donovan in the mid-4s.

Adams, Reulbach, Russo, Taylor, Phillipe - If you don't care about the "weakness" rating, Ogden, Ehmke. The guy I REALLY love is Dizzy's younger brother - "Daffy" (or Paul). Other performers are - Sundra, Turner, Clalmers & Wiltse.

The 10 5-day guys I use the most are Speer, Roe, Bagby Jr., Rommel, Cvengros, Adams, Faber, Miller, Leever, and Wilks.
Rommel actually has a winning record (65-62) in over 1100 innings of work. Adams has won at a .685 clip for me with a 2.28 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. And Leever is 58-42 (.580), pitching primarily in Yankee 27.

EGVRICH - I usually use a 5 man staff, with the .50 guys not getting more than a sniff at usage. That's why I skipped Lanier - I used him once and he "kicked ass". I appologize for not listing him, though.
