Has anybody used Foxx as a 3b in a hitters park? Looks rough defensively, but would having 1's at 2b & SS mitigate the damage somewhat?

A LONG time ago, at the Polo Grounds, I used Foxx at 3b & Glenn Davis at 1b:
Foxx
614 150 19 47 137 110 0 16 .370 .653 .465 1L 11.33M (16 errors)
Davis
614 96 35 49 137 51 0 8 .300 .599 .364 E 4.44M
Alas, the team sucked. Wasn't their fault, though.

I have used foxx at third many times with great success. His errors a relatively low and he is a hitting machine.

Agree with Roosky. I use Foxx A LOT and it is always at 3rd. There are so many good first baseman that I plug him in at 3rd if I want a hitting team and do not get Mathews.

Me too, I have never used Foxx at 1st. If I use him, it's as a 3rd baseman.

Using him now in Polo:
Tm G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS BA SLG OBP
SHO 144 545 126 182 14 4 44 112 80 117 11 1 .334 .617 .420
This is hitting 3rd in front of Simmons and Hack Wilson. 26 errors, but in Polo...I don't care so much.
EDIT:
Just noticed Foxx is leading in the 1b Gold Glove category...well he has made no errors (in 0 games started)

There is a singles factor to consid
Assumming you can get a 2 1Bmen vs Foxx at 3rd or a 2 3Bmen vs Fox at 1st either with the same number of errors as Jimmy:
At 1st there is about a 3 hit per 20 game difference
and at 3rd there is about an 8 hit per 20 game difference.
So the defence should give up about 40 more hits.
You shouldn't just look at errors.

So if I have both Matthews and Foxx, should I drop/trade Matthews for a better fielding power hitting 1B... and put Foxx at 3rd? What are the percentages of balls hit to 1st compared to 3rd.? Foxx hurts less at 1st than 3rd..but I have used him there when Mathews goes down.

If I understand rjoh correctly, the difference between Foxx and a 2 rated 1B is 3 hits 20 games, but with an equiv player at 3B the difference is 8 hits a game, which is a huge, huge difference. Your team defense is better with Foxx at 1B and a 2 defender at 3B due to the number of opportunities a 3B gets vs 1B.
