Manager settings- Help !!!!

Postby CHRISTIANSTOUGH » Sat May 13, 2006 11:13 am

Still in the ATG 101 class; what do I do with theses settings; I'm playing in mostly Forbes and other pitcher parks;
And I've got a feeling I'm costing myself many a game

I've backed off the stolen base setting lately- should I ?

I'm leaning hard on the base runiing- should I?

But I am darn confused on how to harmonize the H+R/Bunting/Steeling with the players cards

You can get an oversight of how your settings are working out for you in the stats page . Click managerial settings . It should give you some idea of how your team is responding to the settings you have . I usually set baserunning (take the extra base ) to aggressive . Stealing to normal , even if I have a speedy team . They will try to steal to often . Bunting depends on the t eam and same with h&r. Depends on who you have . :D

You have to blend it together with your individual player settings.

If you are playing true smallball, then you probably want your Bunt, Hit & Run and baserunning all set at aggressive.

I almost always set base stealing at conservative which will keep your SB % rate around 75% if you have a fast team which is a must for smallball.

Then use the individual player settings to keep the guys who shouldn't be doing those things from doing those things.

There's a really good article on the strato.berce.us site about winning with hit and run. It makes alot of sense and I think I've gotten better using the info.
