Bat these fellows in Polo

As my first Polo team eeeeked into the playoffs (with 83 wins), I thought I'd try to improve on my concept with this team:

Now, the draft didn't really turn our like I'd hoped, wanted Simmons/Joe D in LF and Cf, Roenicke/Quirk at 1b, but I had to settle for the RQ platoon in LF, York at 1b and Mantle in CF.

I tried Diamond Dope for the first time in an effort to bat these guys, wondering if perhaps there's a better way (and if I should drop reese for a higher OBP guy to hit 2nd.)

Vs RHP:

1. Boggs, Wade (L) 3B
2. Lazzeri, Tony (R) 2B
3. York, Rudy (R) 1B
4. Mantle, Mickey (S) CF
5. Barfield, Jesse (R) RF
6. Quirk, Jamie (L) LF
7. Lollar, Sherm (R) C
8. Reese, Pee Wee (R) SS

vs. LHP:

1. Boggs, Wade (L) 3B
2. Barfield, Jesse (R) RF
3. Lollar, Sherm (R) C
4. Mantle, Mickey (S) CF
5. Roenicke, Gary (R) LF
6. York, Rudy (R) 1B
7. Lazzeri, Tony (R) 2B
8. Reese, Pee Wee (R) SS

I think your defense is gonna kill you. If you're gonna spend that much money on pitching in a hitters park, you need to have some 1's on defense. All those 2's are gonna cost your pitchers dearly. (READ AS: Get a 1 at SS or 2B possibly both)

Also, I think your platoon of Quirk/Roenicke will disappoint you.

That being said, I think your pitching staff is interesting and should do o.k. for you.

Chapman looks to be available in your league and is a much better choice. As is Joe Gordon at 2B. I'd be much more comfortable sending a team with those two out there over Reese and Lazzeri.

Also, Werber is underrated at 3B. Plus, McCormick and Murray are available at 1B (though York will out hit them and a "2" at 1B is fine, but they save you $$$).

Ennis, Selkirk, Medwick, Rettenmund are all nice options in LF.
