HAL frequently uses him as an injury replacement in LF. Not sure why.......

I wouldn't in Forbes. Its almost an automatic extra base taken and a huge potential for extra base hits and 2-3 base errors. In Forbes every base matters as scores are generally low. He's a very popular player. You should try to trade him. There's almost always a taker for him.

Just my .02

Good luck.

I'm not so sure about their fileding ratings for the Dutchman;

also, didn't he play just about every position?

and and, did he really throw like a girl?

Honus in Forbes is pretty valuable, I personally prefer him over Ozzie, but his injury risk and high errors may cause some disagreement. :) People either tolerate Honus or hate him, I fall in the tolerate catagorey.

I think Ozzie would be better trade bait.

In the HOF set, he's a 2(-1)e3 in [i:e33076b83f]RF[/i:e33076b83f]. He's also a 1e20 at SS.

3e13 is not really [i:e33076b83f]that[/i:e33076b83f] bad in LF and I don't necessarily think that it means automatic extra bases if an X roll comes up. It's the arm that's the real problem. It is LF, though. If the rest of your D is solid, I say try it.

However, if it's one or the other, I'd take Honus over Ozzie.

The reason for his abominable LF rating is that Honus appeared in left during one game in 1909, recording no chances in the field.

Over his career, he appeared in the OF in 372 games and recorded 56 assists, or about 23 per 154 games. Not shabby, considering the Chief Wilson led the '09 Pirates with 19 assistes (in 154 games). His fielding pct. was 20 points higher than other outfielders during his time.

Almost certainly, Honus was a much better outfielder than his rating, but I can't really fault Strat, since it does generally prevent him from being used as even a semi-regular LF, which he clearly was not in 1909.
