BTW, I'm covered for my next pick but likely not for the next one after that. I need to see if I get another pitcher or if I get a position player with my next pick before I get too carried away with the proxies.

ET, so far only the "Great One" has shown his impatience with his extremely witty, insightful and wonderfully ironic posts. We'll all try to keep him in line... :P

i still vote turn the clock off if ET cant be available for all his picks and has a legitimate excuse. its just not right to skip someone in the tour finals.

luckyman -- what do you mean i'm a carbon copy of my "bastard" brother cristano? if you really were to analyze our teams you would see we have a much different strategy of drafting players. before you make more unintelligent and unwielded comments, please have your facts right.

and just for the record, even if he wasnt my bro, i would still think its BS you are calling out all his players...im not sure if it shows more of a fear of him or just shows your true sliminess...

why dont you go and call out all the players of the guys in this league you are "friends" with?...or are you just not afraid of them...

etdefender,

[quote:fdf22ce627]...Maybe I can jump on the court reporter's computer during breaks in testimony...
[/quote:fdf22ce627]

see, this is another proof of the viability of my very own concept:

[b:fdf22ce627][i:fdf22ce627][u:fdf22ce627]STRAT-O-BOWL[/u:fdf22ce627][/i:fdf22ce627][/b:fdf22ce627]

little computer boards available in toilet rooms of different stores from which you can get scores from internet, look at your fantasy teams, and of course, check out your latest strat teams. 2$ for 10 minutes.

Anyone wants to be rich?

The fact we got thru the first round so fast (even tho I held things up longer than everybody else combined!) shows we are all paying attention. If I may say so, this looks like a great group, and I'm honored to be part of it!

I won't skip anybody without at least discussing it on the boards first, I'll vote to cut ET whatever slack he asks for, and I suspect we all feel the same about that. But I still think we should keep the clock on, if only to keep people like me from getting lazy.

Cristano: me too wonders about Riggo's pick...?

Better go see if it's my turn again! :D

heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

picky spicki has got his red button turn on!!!

I was wondering if you would ever react to my "carbon copy" comment. :)

Sadly though, you don't look as someone who has understood the ironic voice that one could find reading between the lines...

You (as well as your own brother, for the matter) seem to have taken my comments a bit too seriously, so I'll give a serious response:

A pleasure of fantasy teams is to do a little trash talk. A trash talk is usually composed of a small truth, and a lot of exaggeration. Trash talk is done to tease someone, but also to position yourself when the pressure gets a little bit more intense. Apparantly, you didn't appreciate my trash talk pointing at you. Of course, you don't have the exact same strategy: in trash talks, there is a little truth, and a lot of exaggeration. But the truth is that your teams as well the teams of the other fellow of yours (I have a blank for his name) look more similar to cristano's teams than kavikdad's teams or riggo's teams. Even cristano himself has said so. All the rest (carbon copy, etc) is exaggeration to pump you a little bit.

In the case of your brother, with cristano finishing first (and letting it loudly known), I wanted to put a little bit of pressure on him. You accuse me of "calling out his player", but remember what I just said: in trash talking, there is a little of truth, and a lot of exagerration. The facts are that your brother had different players in his different teams, although there are clearly some players that he likes.

Same is true for me. Instead of taking my comments too seriously, you should have responded back by saying: "hey luckyman, I am surprised you didn't pick up Frank Thomas with your first pick". (I am sure bigmahon had this thought!!! )

In fact, we probably love the same players (perhaps you don't know this, but cristano and I have exchanged several emails in the beginning of the season---In case you wonder, our private emails were very courteous and friendly.) Apparantly, we are using a very similar rating system, because we came out with the same conclusions about the value of Bonds and of several other players.

I am really going to do my best to not hold things up. What I WILL NOT DO is load proxies for more than one or two rounds. If this were an "ordinary" league, sure. After all, who (besides crissie) really gives a shït about the everyday leagues? But I am goddamn sick and tired af his ilk always referring to my winning pct. as if it somehow diminishes my record. I spend a total of about an hour per team once they are drafted because I could give a rat's potootie about my winning percentage. My only regular-season goal is to make the playoffs. Then I spend some time making sure everything is kosher. It's all about rings for me. The sports landscape is littered with teams and individuals who ammassed great regular-season records who did squat in the post-season. If crissie ends up winning this league, I'll be the first to congratulate him. But not until then.
