EVENT 3 / LEAGUE 6 - Draft in progress...

the official tournament of SOM Baseball 20xx

Here is my draft so far

Postby STEVENMCNAMEE » Sat May 27, 2006 2:28 pm

I would like to use this board to finish our draft. We only have a few picks left. I think this can happen if we are able to get everyone to put there drafted players on the board.

I now remember all of my picks.

1. Clemens
2. Edmonds
3. Ellis
4. Rollins
5. Garland
6. Figgins
7. Shelton
8. Jones, T
9. Miller, D
10. Garcia, F
11. Seanez

Total 59.9

i think we should finish rounds 11 and 12 and then enter our teams as is. I think trying to do 7 and half more rounds on the board will take forever.

I guess Riggo is up unless he made this pick last night before the site went down.

I think that it is unfair that I will have only 1 more pick. What are we doing about the stadium pick. Now if everyone picks their stadium with 1 of their next 2 picks I could get screwed with 10 stadiums already picked by my turn.

Anyone else have a problem with that?

We can really do what all the other leagues do. Remember we aren't only in competition with the 12 of us but with everyone else as well, so all event 3 leagues must be run the same way.

As for stadiums some of us all ready picked them to make sure we got the stadium that we thought was best suited for our team or team concept.

Mine changed on the fly since at first I was trying to put a team together for COORS and if I didn't get that stadium than any home run stadium would have done. But then with all the lefty bats I got plus Zambrano bphr problems vs lefties batties meant I needed a high single park with low bphr vs lefties so I shifted to Fenway.

Any way you look at it live drafts SUCK!!!!!!!!

I would have to agree that this live draft has been a let down, especially with so many managers home over the holiday weekend and eager to finish. But I have used the live draft site more than 30 times over the last couple of years without a problem like this, and do enjoy live drafts in general.

All of the other league 3's are in the same boat we are, and we have several days yet to finish the draft.

I don't think we should shorten the live draft because of the problem with the site - the idea is to live draft most of your team and not trust to the TSN draft logic for your primary players. I'd agree with Ryno that we shouldn't change the rules midstream.

I suggest we draft on the boards if everyone remembers who they drafted to date, it worked well in the days before penn's draft site was developed. It looks like 7 managers have posted their draft, we'd need the other 5 to check in with their lists. We may not get far, but we can make progress.

If the site isn't back up by Tuesday afternoon (or some other arbitrary time), we can talk about shortening the live draft.

My 2 cents.
