No error here. Salmonbellies will need to make his pick manually in order to skip by Willie Randolph. Proxies will not automatically fire after someone's up on the clock.

draft problem

Postby doktorhendor » Mon Sep 08, 2008 4:08 pm

the system took markakis as another 2nd round pick (he was to be my 1st pick in 3rd round -- 25th overall -- but he was actually the 24th pick overall due to willie randolph's delay (roberts was my 2nd round pick - scheduled as the 24th pick, but actually the 23rd because of skipping over willie randolph). the system indicates my next pick is 25th overall in 3rd round. i know i do not have 3 picks in a row. how do we resolve this?

Somehow the site has given DoctorHendor two number 24 picks and is waiting for him to pick again. I'm not sure what we do here. Coffee? Anyone?

Doc, go to "your picks" and Verlander should be listed where you can click to drop him.

Salmonbelly will need to make a manual pick after you do this, however, if either edgecity or mamiller (in that order), wanted Verlander over who they got, they should be able to drop their pick and manually pick Verlander before salmonbelly selects.

DoctorHendor - draft Scott Elarton!

Postby Coffeeholic » Mon Sep 08, 2008 5:18 pm

This is really odd... never seen this happen before.

I believe that by dropping Verlander and leaving an open slot in your draft, you'll always be 1 pick behind. In order to remedy this, why not draft the most useless player you can find... that'll fill up that slot and thus not slow down the draft.

We won't hold you to putting him on your draft card!

Lets not skip WillieRandolph twice

Postby Coffeeholic » Mon Sep 08, 2008 5:31 pm

An old-time gentlemans agreement in live drafts is to never skip somebody twice... it can really can put someone behind the 8 ball when so many picks get taken off the board because you're out of contact for a bit.

Hopefully WillieRandolph will check back in soon and it won't be an issue, but just in case, whatta ya guys think?

Coffee, Willie picked Lackey, so we won't be skipping him twice.

Ya, I see that Edgecity... glad Willie cheked in!

Whadda ya think about DrHendor filling in that blank spot in the draft with a useless player?
