A Gothic Tale of Degradation and Infamy, the League 4 Legend

Postby PAULMINICUCCI » Tue Sep 05, 2006 12:29 pm

This is the story of Tour Event 6. It is a cautionary tale of legendary thieves gone bad. Yes, League 4 they were called. They were a band of cutthroats and ...worse. Some said they were Mad Bombers, others said they were just Lackadaisical Hustlers looking for a cheap job. They were fast, man, the local coppers called them Speed Demons. They were ......known. They contacted their guru the lord of the Ancient Spirals who told them to pass up the gig – wait for Event 7 he warned - the vibes weren’t right he told them. They ignored the blind sage and went ahead with the scheme. So they recruited the Brown Pelicans (oh don’t let the name fool you-these guys were first rate bag-men – they were low flyers and gobbled up everything they saw) and the Riders 6 (they used to be the magnificent 7 but they lost someone along the way). They put on their best Silk Stockings and consulted the cryptic map. H’mmm where is this place, the Best City? And where exactly did the 60 Million Dollar Men live? The map didn’t say but it was too late. They were mad with dreams of Diamond Kings and riches!

They gathered at the offices of the Baseball Club 20 and that was their mistake. Teepack had ratted them out and when they got there, the coppers rounded them up. They were caught red-handed, they were dead ducks and they were Booked on Grand Larceny charges and sent off to work off their sentence, playing a bunch of other guys in a cheap simulated league, a bunch of low-lying flunkies in a loser’s club, all for the chance to win a fake silver trophy. So, my friend heed the warnings, don’t waste your time or you could end up chained to your computer, cursing your draft positions, sweating out the injuries, getting swept and maybe worse. Nah, getting swept is pretty much the worst.

Best of luck in the draft- Sacramento Yankees.

Actually, I am the guru. "Ancient Spirals" is the name of self-predict event that Terry is about to renew.

ARod was my first pick, if I recall correctly (made my team last week). Will soon if I can attract some luck.

I won't get Floyd

I almost drafted Clark, but didn't want to put him first so I left him off. Glad I did.

Top 5
Ensberg
Konerko
Utley

Mine were:
Chavez (decided on him instead of ARod)
Vizquel
Wilkerson
Lidge
Shields

My 24th player is Roberts (didn't really like any of the lower priced second basemen)

I think this is the first time this year I've gotten 1st waiver pick in [b:cb1b8d7a69]any [/b:cb1b8d7a69]league, much less a Tour league. I won't bore you with the damn I had a bad draft, etc., cause you know I did with that 1st pick.

Looking to move Ensberg, Polanco, a nice little SS platoon of Scutero/Izturis...

...send me some ideas or proposals

If you're game and want to trade me a high profile player for the 1st waiver pick, I'll look at those offers, too. :)
