Move On

We don't know what's going on in his life,But the fact of the matter is he signed on to make his first round pick yesterday. It doesn't take that long to make proxies which he could have done when he signed on yesterday.

geeked

I was geeked to get on with this draft. I set up several rounds of proxies, but I would MUCH rather do this in real time. While I realize it is important to be fair to all parties I believe that if you fail to answer the bell, for any reason, you should be content to play the hand you are dealt.

Dawg has my vote (if I have one) At least he is INTERESTED in the league. His first pick was Ryan Howard

Are these "live" drafts ever executed in a reasonable amount of time? This is my first time on the tour and I have encountered this type of delay in each of the live drafts I've participated in. If I wasn't a baseball/Stratomatic fanatic, it would be enough to make me never want to play in tour events again.

Sometimes they go quickly. MUCH more enjoyable when there's a decent pace as I much prefer doing it pick by pick than via proxy, expecially when it's in a tour league. Ususally, though, there's one or two who slow down the other ten. Shame here that they pick back to back.

This is wrong!

Postby Buzman » Sat Dec 08, 2007 9:10 pm

It is not a shame...it is somebody being so self centered that he is willing to make the other 11 owners wait. I can see not checking in and not knowing the draft has started, but after your first pick you should know that your pick will be coming up again in the next three days. Why are we allowing this person to control the draft? He obviously isn't interested and doesn't care to even set up proxies. I will check again tomorrow, but this is not fun and I am ready to quit!

I understand your frustration Buzman, but please don't go away and leave us two managers short. As for MrAlou, we should give him the benefit of the doubt for the moment until we have evidence of why he vanished. I believe that we should make every effort to contact Teepack and have a replacement manager take over the franchise before that team misses its second-round pick and throws off the competitive balance of the league.

I did one of these in 2 days earlier this season.

I really love these drafts IF you have people who want to do it and have time. Tee asked us to have patience and I have, but it's about to run out. It's a time factor and soon I'll be the one who doesn't have any. Sorry, but real life's about to get in the way.
