Current Tour Format

Hi Teepack,
I think I'm in the minority but thought I would pass it on. See below. I posted this in the Suggestions forum:
[color=brown:33dca9ce8e]I think I'd be more apt to playing in the "Tour" if there were less overlapping events. One season takes about 2 months to finish. So in this year's format, I'd be okay with playing in the following events: 1,3,5,7. There might be a few days of overlap but I'm okay with that.
With the tour's current format, I would be forced to have 2 teams going at the same time at least once in the tournament because all participants need to play in at least 5 events. Maybe we can require each participant to play in a minimum of 4 events or have less events?
Current schedule of 2007 Player's Championship:
Event...Date
1...5/7
2...6/4
3...7/2
4...7/30
5...8/27
6...9/24
7...10/22[/color:33dca9ce8e]

I like the overlapping leagues...then again, I'm one of those freaks with 7-10 or more active teams at any given time. :D
I think the Live Draft is my biggest concern...gets too bogged down with delays BEYOND the 2 or 3 hour slot alotments, when people don't use their proxies.

I remember way back when :) I got my first fantasy team online with AOL.. They had their leagues setup with a time that the league would draft and it worked very well.. That could be something to thing about when setting up each event. ( example: when setting up event 1, you could setup say 5 leagues with different times so when you signed up for a league you would know what time the live draft would start ).. Best I remember we ran a whole 25-man roster draft on AOL in about 4-hours..
Just a thought

I have 7 teams going right now and if the event 5 league I'm in ever gets going I'll be up to 8. I agree with you about the live draft, even when people do use proxies it stills get bogged down and then again gets bogged down waiting for the league to full so the AD can be run. I'm for doing away completely with the live drafts or only have event 7 be a live draft. The other 6 events could be broken down as:
60 mil cap all players
80 mil cap all players (DH)
80 mil cap all players (no DH)
100 mil cap all players
80 mil cap only NL players (no DH)
80 mil cap only AL players (DH)

Live draft is the best event. For me, at least. Of course, my performance in all the actual Leagues is awful.

I like Assmeritan's ideas for the format. Actually, I'd love to keep the live draft if only TSN could format their own, revised, upgraded, etc. site.
It's been great that Majordeegan has been able to keep the current one going, but it's ridiculous that TSN doen not support and invest in that, or their own, Live Draft site.

If the live drafts are to continue, then the following improvements should be implemented:
(1) the drafts should be "live" drafts
(2) more advanced proxy functions need to be made available
(3) each team's entire roster should be drafted
(4) the draft should be conducted with the TSN environment so that it is as seamless and "idiot-proof" as possible.
I make these suggestions after having suffered through a nightmare draft in an AL-only tour event.
