This goes along with question 2. Some people feel the current bonus structure rewards postseason too much. Here is the current format:
Regular events - Division winners (15 points); Wild-card (10 points); Winning a playoff series (10 points); Winning the World Series (10 points); the max one team can win is 35 points.
Star events - Division winners (25 points); Wild-card (15 points); Winning a playoff series (10 points); Winning the World Series (15 points); the max one team can win is 50 points.
Here are two new proposals:
Proposal 1: Division winners (10 points) and wild-card (5 points); Winning a playoff series (5 points); Winning the World Series (5 points); the max one team can win is 20 points.
Proposal 2: Division winners (10 points) and wild-card (5 points); Postseasdon play - Each win in postseason is worth two points, so teams who win Division Series would each get six points, and team that won World Series would get additional eight points; the max one team can win is 24 points.
Proposal 3: Same as proposal 1, except division winners and wild-card each get 10 bonus points for making the postseason.
Proposal 4: Same as Proposal 2, except division winners and wild-card each get 10 bonus points for making the postseason.
