Announcing the OFFICIAL
[size=18:ae0e0a0412]Strat-O-Matic Baseball 2006 Players' Championship![/size:ae0e0a0412]

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2006/tournament/

We took the formerly-named "Players' Tour" and flavor-blasted it. Check out the official Tournament Central page at the link above, where all year we'll be keeping track of every single qualifying league in every Event, archiving every Manager's Tournament record, and automatically computing Manager Standings.

Like last year, [b:ae0e0a0412]teepack[/b:ae0e0a0412] is your Tournament Commissioner and will answer your questions and make sure you have a great ride.

[b:ae0e0a0412]Prizes![/b:ae0e0a0412]
This year's overall Winner will receive ALL of the following (check the Tourney Central page for pretty pictures):
- The 2006 Players' Championship Trophy (this is really nice actually)
- The 2006 season Strat-O-Matic Board Game/Card Set (i.e. next year's!)
- a 1-year subscription to The Sporting News weekly magazine

The runner-up will also receive the 1-year subscription!

[b:ae0e0a0412]Live Drafts[/b:ae0e0a0412]
Many of you have been wondering, or will want to know, how live drafts will be conducted. I've contacted Penngray to discuss the possibility of using the draft site he created that was used in last year's tournament. In case that site is unavailable, we have a few other options that we can use alternatively. I will definitely keep you updated on the situation. Bottom line is, I can assure you that you'll be able to conduct your live drafts as smoothly and conveniently as ever.

There's already 72 signups for the Tournament, matching last year's end total. Sign up now and enjoy!

This is very nice Bernie - YOU ROCK!!! :P ...but I'm w/ cristano about the board game - send me the soft copy.

...and I am very relieved by your assurances that we'll "be able to conduct your live drafts as smoothly and conveniently as ever."

I like the 1-year subscription though. If I am not mistaken, this gives free access to the blogs and reports that we can't access right now on the TSN site.

We had to get rid of the auction. We weren't sure if Penngray was going to be able to update his site.

teepack,

i was under the assumption that we are using penn's site for live drafts now though...so if we are, is it possible to put the auction back in? i know a lot of managers love the auction, and it could simply replace one of those autodrafts we do...

point blank, im pushing for it because its my favorite event. just let me know.

I thought the auction was a drag last year, until it turned out to be my best Tour event, so now I like it! :D

But I seem to recall we needed personal attention from Penn along the way to keep the site/auction working right with the clock re-sets or something else only Penn could do...has anybody used his site for a successful auction without Penn's help this year?

(As I recall, the original plan this year was to make the auction a third option for the AL Only/NL Only theme event.)

I love the auction format, too. Has Penngray updated that site as well? We'll see what we can do, but I don't want to promise anything.
