Challenge for the '61 Yanks is fitting it under the cap. The O's have a lot of solid core players (B.Robby, F.Robby, Aparicio, Palmer), plus Rice, Fournier and Tobin but I am worried about the overall rotation.

I think that I picked Tiant first. Big Money pitcher in his day, hopefully does the same for me with the O's.

hey, here's an issue...

I drafted Dixie Howell on the boards... as one of the individual players, and had him on my draftcard, ranked 15th or so... and after the autodraft, he ended up on another team! I had printed my draftcard because I always forget who I took and in what order.. and there he is!

Jawblowmi... did you inadvertently put Howell on your draft card not knowing I had selected him on the boards? Other than the concern that I have about getting the reliever I'd drafted, I'm also hoping it's not an auto-draft coding/system issue on the SN side... that would be a nightmare.

Please let me know. I'd like to clear this up before waivers.

To the rest of the league, I'm just stating this here so it's in the public record so to speak. Anyone else have any draft issues?

I don't have my list, but it was probably my mistake. I'll send him on over.

If you can do a trade for a player that Wjanssen was going to drop anyway before waivers, that would work well, otherwise, you can do a drop and pick after waivers. Just send a league mail (not here) before you do it so no one will think that he is available if they see him on the FA.

wjanssen, Did you recieve a pitcher from a team that is not being used in this league when you missed on Dixie Howell? If so you might as well trade that player to Jablomi for Howell. That doesn't give Jablowmi any advantage since he can't use that player anyway.

I did this when I ended up with Fergie Jenkins after the draft. I traded him to his proper team for Claude Osteen who plays for a Dodgers team we aren't using.

To close the issue out... I got Howell via trade for an equal valued reliever who is not on one of the eligible teams (Lavelle, Tor '85), so there is no advantage/disadvantage to either of us in this process, and Dixie Howell won't misss his first team meeting and long bus ride with 24 of his mostly 34NYGiants teammates!

Thanks much to jablowmi's for quick resolution! I know we have a lot of new teams, card study, and live drafts underway at the same time, so these things happen, I've had my share of whoops's in the last week (missing players in the draft, not makign trades when I need to, etc.).

Let the trading fun begin!

he was 7th on my draft list but ended up with the cleveland naps (whom quickly took care of the issue.thanks LM) i don,t know how the naps got him, weather LM inadvertently picked him or it was just another (jaime :) )quirk in the auto-draft system......but that was the only issue i had with the draft.....
( LM i sent you a counter offer)

There aree some guys sitting with '27 Pirates on their rosters, but I assume after waivers they will be freed up and all will be OK in SOM land.

I imagine there are a bunch of "home Team" players on the wrong teams right now, I know I have a couple. Since waivers are tying our hands to fix it right now, just wait till tomorrow and drop them. Since they are home team players, they are fine in the FA pool since they are off limits.

I think we got through the AD with only the one glitch of a drafted player being AD'd by someone else. not surprising that it happened. Thanks for tkaing care of it.

I've said it before but I'll say it again, this is a great group of manager, I think this should be alot of fun, I'll enjoy waving up to all of you from the basement as I still have big time holes, and limited trade bait.
