Al Holland as a starter?

Postby Apoptosis » Sat Aug 26, 2006 4:50 pm

Here's a game from last night, http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/80s/league/boxscore.html?group_id=14743&g_id=332
The team Holland started for has 6 SPs, none of whom were injured. So how does Holland start

I don't understand either. I've never been able to put a reliever in as a starter. Relievers are not an option under per game starters. Weird.

Suspect some cleverness

Very neat. Use Honeycutt, Reuss, Bankhead and schedule Cox, Anderson and Denny and let Hal decide who to pitch in between. Neither of the previous starters can go because they need rest, and none of the others go because you have them scheduled to go soon.

Terry Leach as a Starter - Injury as Reason

Postby jsam9801 » Wed Aug 30, 2006 12:53 pm

Usually carry 4 SP* pitchers with one .50 SP. Due to injury, I has Reuschel unavailable, and my de facto #5 unavailable due to not enough rest.

Hence, HAL filled in the blank and voila, a Star was Born with Terry Leach giving me a great start (he bit the rest of the way, though).
